About

In a 2045 dystopian post-apocalyptic Rome where caos reigns supreme, there is a band of anti-hero musicians who try to resist and fight the system, finding salvation throughtout music: their name is “Nightmare in Rome”. Nightmare in Rome was originally created by CAM Sugar, Enrico Mutti, Lorenzo Senni and Tanino Liberatore, as a result from their encounter and shared ambition to reimagine an unparalleled archive of cinematic masterpieces ad a grounbreaking musical and narrative experience. Conceived by a global mastermind of electronic music, designed by one of the greatest comic illustrators alive, based on the richest repertoire of Italian soundtracks in the world, Nightmare in Rome has evolved into an experimental audio-visual project that mixes two different languages,  and resulting in a comic book that will be published by the end of October 2025 by Sergio Bonelli Editore - with a special preview at Lucca Comics & Games 2025, and a music project that will be fully released in 2026.

"Nightmare in Rome - Prelude” is in fact the first chapter of a more extensive soundtrack,
born from the collaboration between electronic producer Lorenzo Senni and the label CAM Sugar, with the goal of transforming the vast and invaluable catalogue of iconic Italian scores into a unique project.

In this context, Senni has reworked in his own special way the iconic sounds of composers of the likes of Ennio Morricone and Riz Ortolani, bringing them together with two iconic contemporary artists: Ghostface Killah (legendary founding member of the Wu-Tang Clan) and Franklin James Fisher (frontman of the Atlanta-based band Algiers).
