LA NIÑA

LA NIÑA (stage name of Carola Moccia) is a Neapolitan singer, songwriter and composer who weaves the musical tradition of Naples together with contemporary sounds, experimentation and vocal research, creating a personal and instantly recognisable language.

Part of the Sugar Music roster and a Sugar Music Publishing songwriter, she brings to her music an imagery in which folk roots, ritual and the avant-garde meet, turning cultural memory into a contemporary form of expression. Between experimentation and hybridisation – through the deeply evocative and powerful language of her city, Naples – her work ranges from singing to writing, from theatre to cinema, from dance to the visual arts.

In 2025 her second album Furèsta won the Targa Tenco for Best Album in Dialect. Her latest single RÀRECHE was released in July 2026.

In 2023 she made her acting debut in the TV series La voce che hai dentro, by and starring Massimo Ranieri, for which she also composed the original music.

With “Il fuoco che ti porti dentro”, Edoardo De Angelis’s film presented in competition at the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, she signs her first film score, together with Alfredo Maddaluno. A milestone for Italian music: LA NIÑA is the first Italian woman composer to score a film presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival.
