CAM Sugar is delighted to announce the launch of their website: the ultimate home for Italian film music. The CAM sugar website is the place to be for the lovers of Italian cinema and of its cult timeless soundtracks.
The website will host a range of news, editorial features and multimedia content expanding on the CAM sugar’s immense catalogue, on its protagonists like - among others - the Oscar-winning composers Ennio Morricone and Luis Bacalov, Piero Piccioni, Stelvio Cipriani, Nino Rota, and on the world of Italian cinema of yesterday and today.
On the website will also debut the brand new CAM sugar shop featuring exclusive products and accessories.
Music for film is coming home with CAM Sugar’s new digital platform. The legendary and historical soundtrack and library music label founded in Rome in 1959 by publisher Giuseppe Campi and now part of Sugar Music Publishing since 2011, finally acquires a digital dimension thanks to a dedicated website and cultural hub.
With over 2,000 original titles and more than 500 awards - including an Oscar as the Best Original Score for the music of “Il Postino” by Luis Bacalov - CAM Sugar represents the biggest catalogue of soundtracks and library music in Italy.
An all-Italian gem that is finally set to shine again thanks to a platform rich in editorial and multimedia content like podcasts, videos and playlists. The website will also host an e-shop where to purchase the latest CAM Sugar releases alongside new exclusive merch, like tote bags, t-shirts and slipmats.
Ennio Morricone, Luis Bacalov, Piero Umiliani, Stelvio Cipriani, Riz Ortolani, Piero Piccioni, Giovanni Fusco, Armando Trovajoli, Nino Rota, these are just some of the names that gift the CAM Sugar’s catalogue with hundreds of milestones of Italian cinematic music featuring original scores such as “Mondo Cane” (Ortolani), “L’Avventura” (Fusco), “8 ½”, “La Dolce Vita” and “Amarcord” (Rota), “Femina Ridens” (Cipriani), “Profumo di Donna” (Trovajoli), “Il Postino” (Bacalov). Not to mention, then, the scores of the PEMA catalogue, home to many of the most celebrated French soundtracks and library music albums by some of the genre’s colossi like François De Roubaix, Philippe Sarde and Alain Goraguer (“La Planete Sauvage”).
Not only soundtracks, but also syncs and samples that over the years have been used by World-famed directors, artists and producers like Quentin Tarantino, Martin Scorsese, Wes Anderson, Black Keys, Drake, Flying Lotus, James Blake, Kali Uchis, just to name a few. All of this makes CAM Sugar’s catalogue a refined and carefully curated treasure able to cross both auteur and genre’s cinema, spanning from Italian-style horror to spaghetti western, and offering a range of genres going from jazz to funk, from the charm of easy listening to pioneering avant-garde music, from tribal rhythms to tropical ones. A treasure featuring 70% of unreleased material, something that makes the future of CAM Sugar an exciting adventure into the secret archives of Italian and French cinematica.
After being given a second life by Sugar Music Publishing beginning from 2020, CAM Sugar is now dedicated to the celebration of its heritage just as much to the rediscovery of its archive rarities through a series of both physical and digital releases, including previously unreleased soundtracks, remastered and expanded reissues of cult scores and themed compilations like the celebrated “Morricone Segreto”, "PAURA" and "BOOM!".For further information, please contact: firstname.lastname@example.org
