ROMY SCHNEIDER, UN PORTRAIT MUSICAL 2LP

CAM Sugar and Decca France present a new original compilation centred around the four iconic films that saw together Academy award-winning composer Philippe Sarde, French legendary director Claude Sautet, and iconic actress Romy Schneider: four soundtracks, four music portraits of Romy Schneider, at four different moments of her life, as an artist and woman.

This exceptional album brings together for the first time these 4 scores and songs composed by Philippe Sarde, one of the most prolific French composers, averaging 18 millions of streams just on Spotify in the last 12 months. The compilation will include titles of the likes of La Chanson d'Hélène by Romy Schneider and Michel Piccoli, both in its French and Italian versions; La Maison sur la plage (A House by the Sea) from César & Rosalie, including La Lettre de Rosalie by Romy Schneider and a new addition: the lost song  penned by Sarde and Dabadie for Schneider in 1972 but never completed, now gracefully recorded by Italo-French singer and actress Alice Taglioni for this project as a world premiere; Max et les ferrailleurs (including the title song by Mouloudji) and Une Histoire Simple.

Listening to these 4 soundtracks in a row reveals the magic chemistry between an actress, a director and a composer: “Through her magnetism and her fragilities, Romy is without doubt the actress who inspired and touched me the most,” concludes Philippe Sarde, melancholically.

Available from November, 22nd.
